Romy Mars, 16, the daughter of the filmmaker and Thomas Mars, the frontman for the band Phoenix, took to TikTok this week to try her hand at a cooking demonstration after she was confined to her home for trying to use her father’s credit card for an extravagant trip.

“Make a vodka sauce pasta with me because I’m grounded,” Romy solemnly opened the now-deleted video she posted to TikTok. “I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad’s credit card because I wanted to have dinner with my camp friend.”

Then, Romy’s demeanour turned animated as she clapped her hands and said enthusiastically, “OK, let’s get started.”

But her cooking session quickly went off the rails when Romy admitted she didn’t know the difference between garlic and onion.

“I just had to Google images of onions on my phone,” she said. “I’m embarrassed.”

Romy then took at shot at her famous parents, telling viewers that she was attempting to make a name for herself as a kitchen superstar because they have forbidden her from having an online presence on social media.

“My parents’ biggest rule is, like, I’m not allowed to have any public social media accounts,” she says before revealing her dad’s Grammy award.

“They don’t want me to be a nepotism kid, but TikTok is not gonna make me famous so it doesn’t really matter.”

At the 30-second mark, Romy slices into a shallot. “Is this an onion? I feel like this doesn’t look like an onion. This looks like the inner workings of a ballsa–,” she asks before the video abruptly cuts off.

Romy then continues to berate her parents when she introduces Ari, her babysitter’s boyfriend.

“My parents are never home so these are my replacement parents,” she snaps.

Later, Romy tries her hand at journalism as she asks Ari his thoughts on the “helicopter fiasco,” which he deftly avoids answering.

“I like fiascA cause it’s like a feminine fiasco,” he replies.

Romy’s directorial debut concludes with the spoiled teenager saying, “I’m just waiting for Ari to come back with my ingredients and I will see you in part 2 where I actually make the pasta.”

The 49-second video was deleted from TikTok, but Romy’s culinary skills — or lack thereof — has become a hit on Twitter where it has garnered nearly 47 million views.

“This is all we want from nepo babies,” one person wrote. “Other nepo babies, please take note.”

Meanwhile, plenty of others praised Romy’s skills as a filmmaker.

“(The video) has dramatic tension, excellent scene-setting, good evocative props that indicate emotions (onions = tears), shocking family revelations, slapstick comedy and great dialogue,” one critic hailed.

“Given her lineage, it’s quite possible that Part II of this film series would be even better than the first,” another remarked, making a reference to Romy’s Oscar-winning grandfather Francis Ford Coppola.

“A perfect short film,” a third person cheered. “We have a third generation of Coppola directors.”

Ari’s supporting work also didn’t escape notice, with one person declaring his appearance “really ties the video together nicely.”

Before her account was shut down, Romy accumulated 29,900 followers on TikTok, the New York Post reported.

In her last TikTok video, Romy gave fans a glimpse of her singing voice.

“This is so nepotism of me,” she captioned the video.
