Street Fighter 6 Input Delay On PlayStation Can Get Under 3 Frames; Training Mode Discovered In The Demo

Street Fighter 6, the new entry in the series launching in a little over a month on PC and consoles worldwide, is setting out to be one of the most responsive modern fighting games, with some of the lowest input delay seen in recent years.

Following the launch of the playable demo on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, @kimagreGaming did some input delay testing, highlighting how, without input lag reduction, the delay is under 5 frames, the same as in Street Fighter V after multiple updates. Things, however, get interesting with input lag reduction, which essentially disables V-sync, with an input delay of around 3 frames on PlayStation 5 and under 2.7 frames on PlayStation 4. In 120hz mode on PlayStation 5, the input delay is under 2 frames, which is incredibly responsive. Additionally, all these values are unaffected by the resolution.

The aforementioned Street Fighter 6 playable demo provides a small first taste of the game’s single-player experience, allowing players to test out the expensive World Tour mode and some Fighting Ground modes, such as Versus Mode and character guides. Training Mode, sadly, is not available in the demo, but it’s still possible to access it with limited functionality with a simple workaround. In the Character Guide mode, any guide which involves executing a special move allows players to practice using it by pressing the touchpad during the demonstration. By doing so in the Level 3 Super guide, it is essentially possible to access a training mode, although with limited functionality, compared to that of the final game.

The reveal of the Street Fighter 6 playable demo was only one of the things that were revealed during yesterday’s showcase. Among the many features that were shown were new World Tour mechanics, Season 1 DLC characters, single-player and multiplayer modes, and more. With such a wealth of content available at launch, Street Fighter 6 is setting out to be one of the most interesting fighting games ever released.

Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2nd on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
