Summerslam 2023: Multiple matches confirmed for August WWE PLE

The July 17 episode of Raw was kicked off with Cody Rhodes coming out to the ring with his mother sitting in the front row, to cut a passionate promo on getting his hands on Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar’s theme music hit the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia but he didn’t come out. Brock’s music hit again and this time, Cody decided to go backstage to hunt him down.

Lesnar took the opportunity to attack Cody with a Steel Chair. The assault continued with an F5 on Cody on the floor, right in front of Cody’s mother at ringside, before passing him out with the Kimura Lock on multiple occasions.

As Cody Was lying in the ring, Lesnar eventually accepted Cody’s challenge for another rematch at the biggest event of the summer by shouting the following, “Challenge accepted. I’ll see you at SummerSlam, b*tch.”

Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes first battled at Backlash in May where the latter triumphed with a roll-up win over a busted-open Lesnar. The score was settled at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia as Lesnar won via referee stoppage.

Now, at Summerslam, the two top superstars will collide again in the third and final match of their ongoing feud, possibly with a unique and not-so-seen stipulation that is yet to be announced by the WWE.

In another big announcement from Raw, Ronda Rousey is done with the talks and now she wants to punish her former bestie Shayna Baszler for turning on her which initiated a Summerslam challenge.

Baszler defeated Nikki Cross in a singles contest on Raw after which Rousey appeared in a promo from the stands to declare that she wasn’t handed anything in WWE but rather she took it, just like her every other major accomplishment in her career.

“I’m the greatest combat sports athlete of all time. You are just a knock-off version of me,” Rousey said after which Baszler wanted to face her in a match at Summerslam which was accepted, quickly.

Finn Balor will also get a shot at Seth Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam. The announcement came after Balor told Rollins to tell WWE Official Adam Pearce to make their World Title rematch official.

In a backstage confrontation, Seth and Balor confronted where the latter took a cheap shot to lay down the champion. Shortly after the rematch from Money in the Bank was officially announced on WWE’s social media handle.

WWE Summerslam 2023 premium live event goes down Saturday, August 5 at the Detroit Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Following this week’s Raw, three matches have officially been announced for the show as given below,

– WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor

– Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

– Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
