SELL OF THE WEEK: Luke Travers (MEL) $266,100 GRD/FWD

Travers had the highest ownership of any player entering into the Monday night contest against the Perth Wildcats. For the first time this season, league leading Melbourne United was at full strength. However, this was short lived. Less than one minute into the final match of the round, Travers left the game with concussion and did not return. The United star collided with Ariel Hukporti’s knee with force, and will now be doubtful for this round. If you did contemplate holding Travers, you need to consider that, with a score of -2 SuperCoach points in his rolling average, the only thing that will crash faster than Travers did this week will be his SuperCoach price.

OTHERS TO CONSIDER SELLING

Injured players

While we are on the topic of injured players, given every team plays the same amount of games this week, it is a great opportunity to move on from injured players. Jaylin Galloway (17.2%) and Zylan Cheatham (6.9%) are both examples of injured players with high ownership that can be traded.

Lachlan Olbrich (ILL) $100,500 CTR

Unfortunately, Lachy Olbrich is not going to make us rich quickly this SuperCoach season. Olbrich has largely missed his opportunity to be SuperCoach relevant based on a combination of foul trouble limiting his minutes, and poor scoring when given the opportunity. His 1 SuperCoach point in nearly 20 minutes of court time is the latest example. It is hard being an Olbrich owner and seeing him working hard to be first down the court time after time only to be missed by his teammates. Olbrich can now be traded.

Ben Henshall (PER) $71,000 GRD

Finally, for the quarter of all SuperCoaches out there that are Henshall owners, we have another trade option. If you can use your dual-position trading to get Taran Armstrong, we recommend you do so this week.

Ariel Hukporti (MEL) $215,000 CTR

Hukporti was listed in our sells of the week last round and now has a -1 in his rolling average. He is a priority trade out this week.

BENNY’S BREAK EVENS

Each week Benny will list some of the notable Break Evens for the week ahead – players with low Break Evens are set to rise in price, while high Break Evens indicate a looming price drop. Sign up to SuperCoach Plus for the full list of Break Evens plus more stats and tools to help your team.

• Josh Bannan (-13)

• Mantas Rubstavicius (-9)

• Lat Mayen (-8)

• Kristian Doolittle (-4)

• Ariel Hukporti (45)

• Tahjere McCall (68)

HOLD

HOLD OF THE WEEK: Jaylen Adams

Adams is the only player to have scored 30 SuperCoach points in every game that he has played (9). For this reason, it may seem an easy decision to hold Adams, however, the Kings short term schedule looks poor with consecutive single game rounds in rounds 8 and 9. What I intend to draw your attention to is what happens to the King’s schedule in the period thereafter. In round 10, only the Kings and Taipans have a double-game round. Including round 10, the King’s have a league best 5 double-game rounds between round 10 and 17. Importantly, this also includes round 14 where only Sydney and Melbourne United have double-game rounds. All of the above make for compelling reasons to keep your Kings.

OTHER PLAYERS TO CONSIDER HOLDING:

Finn Delany

For the 1000 SuperCoaches that were in on Finn leading into the last round, you can still look to hold him. The Breakers have double game rounds in round 9 and 10 and despite the poor scoring last round, Delany had plenty of opportunity, having played 25 and 28 minutes in each game respectively.

BANKSY’S BARGAINS

Each week Banksy will rank his favourite bargain players regardless of schedule.

1. Josh Bannan (BRI) $192,000 FWD

He was here as a must buy last week and now you know why. His 62 SuperCoach points at just 113k was the seventh best score for the round, and included a big-time double (17 points and 11 rebounds) to spark the win against the SEM Phoenix on Thursday evening. Bannan is now priced at $192,000, but still has close to a competition best -13 breakeven with a predicted $37k price spike to match. Although he isn’t as cheap as he was over the past couple of weeks, he is still the most valuable play available at his price, and has now proven to be a selection we can safely field on court.

2. Taran Armstrong (CRN) $69,000 GRD

Armstrong made his long awaited return from injury to feature in both of Cairns away games in Round 6. He may have only posted SuperCoach scores of 12 and eight points, but similarly to Bannan after his first round in the league, the starting role and minutes were there. With Patrick Miller sidelined, he played 19 and 17 minutes across the round, which included some flashy plays in the second half against the Phoenix which resulted in an equal team best 12 points on four of five shooting. There will be limited opportunities to bring in a $69,000 player with the role and opportunity Armstrong possesses through the remainder of the season. Priced currently at a SuperCoach score of six, jump on at a bargain basement price before his first price adjustment at the conclusion of Round 7.

3. Kristian Doolittle (PER) $205,700 FWD

He was listed here last week, and although he sat in just 23 teams, the result was the tenth-best SuperCoach score for the round. He has now played 30, 30, 35 and most recently 39 minutes over his past four games, which has naturally resulted in his four best SuperCoach scores for the season. He has averaged 25.5 SuperCoach points per game over his last four, while still being priced at 17.9 and looks to have cemented his role and position going forward in this Perth Wildcats lineup.

4. Mangok Mathiang (NZ) $163,600 FWD/CTR

Mangok has produced serviceable SuperCoach scores of 25, 20 and 17 over his past three games while sitting at a price of 14. While he wouldn’t provide for a great selection on your court, he could be a cheaper downgrade option and cash grab for Hukporti on your bench, after averaging 21 minutes per game across his past four, and heads into Round 7 with a breakeven of just five, with a great schedule to match.

5. Kyle Bowen (MEL) $116,800 FWD

Priced at 10 SuperCoach points with scores of 19, 7 and 28 over his last three games, Bowen finds his way onto the Bargains list this week after becoming the beneficiary of Luke Travers going down early with concussion against Perth on Monday. His minutes had spiked a little recently, but it was a season high 32 minutes of court time once Travers was ruled out that resulted in season-high 16 rebounds and 28 SuperCoach points. He now heads into Round 7 with a -14 breakeven. Watch this space on Travers availability, but if he is out for a number of week, like we saw with Dellavedova, then Bowen could be in line for more big-minute games.

BUY

BUY OF THE WEEK: Anthony Lamb (NZ) $277,800 FWD

While Lamb and New Zealand seemed like a recipe for success, you are forgiven if you were feeling a bit sheepish about Lamb as a SuperCoach prospect. The eye test was great, yet until this round, it had not equated to SuperCoach production. Lamb’s 72 SuperCoach points in round 6 demonstrated that he is becoming accustomed to his new role in the team since the injury to Cheathum. If you are trading out Travers, Lamb is a tasty option. With two double game rounds in round 8 and 9, you can play Lamb for a few weeks before giving him the chop.

BOYDIE’S BEST BUYS

Each week Boydie will rank the other best buys for the week ahead.

1. Josh Bannan (BRI) $192,000 FWD

After 37 and 25 in Brisbane’s last round, Bannan remains an absolute no-brainer as a trade target for Round 7 despite his price rise. He is still relatively cheap based on his production and may allow you to upgrade to a premium elsewhere. We think you can start Bannan based on his recent form and safe floor, with 25 being his lowest score over his past four games.

2. Bryce Cotton (PER) $382,700 GRD

Is Bryce back to the Bryce we are used to seeing? 39 and 34 SuperCoach points in round 6 saw Cotton have the second-highest score of the round, behind only Gary Browne. We need to be conscious that Perth does have a short turnaround with a game v NZ in Perth on Friday night. NZ did allow Jaylen Adams to have 31 SuperCoach points in their Round 6 matchup so I think Bryce gets it done in Round 7 – and he might be the cheapest we see him for the rest of the season.

3. Kristian Doolittle (PER) $171,500 FWD

If you’re looking for a player on the cheaper side but with a slightly better schedule than Bannan, then Doolittle might be doing a bit for you with Perth’s Round 8 double-game round. Doolittle had 19 and 38 SuperCoach-points games in Round 6. The caveat being that he was the beneficiary of some extra minutes due to the overtime game v Melbourne United and Pinder’s foul trouble in both games. Doolittle looks to have settled into the NBL, well ever since Mitch Creek talked him up on the commentary a couple games ago that is. Onya, Creeky!

4. Keanu Pinder (PER) $364,700 FWD/CTR

Look, Keanu isn’t setting the world on fire, but he still grinded out 51 SuperCoach points over Round 6 despite being in foul trouble relatively early in both games. His court time of 21 and 22 minutes over the two games are way down from his 27+ minutes he averaged in the four games before this round. The equation is easy, if Pinder stays out of foul trouble then I could see him going large. He already has 50 and 40 SuperCoach point games this season so don’t forget about Pinder who is cheaper again this round.

5. Milton Doyle (TAS) $312,700 GRD / Jordon Crawford (TAS) $349,900 GRD

I have included both players here as I struggle predicting which one will dominate as they seem to take it in turns for big SuperCoach scoring games. Their juicy Round 7 matchup against Adelaide is just too hard to pass up as a two-week option here. The JackJumpers are one of just four teams with a double-game round in round 8 also. Cotton just scored 39 against the 36ers – and I can’t see Adelaide stopping either of Doyle or JCraw to be honest!

6. Parker Jackson-Cartwright (NZ) $364,300 GRD

7. Taran Armstrong (CRN) $69,000 GRD

8. Sam Waardenburg (CRN) $273,100 FWD/CTR

9. Bobi Klintman (CRN) $221,500 FWD

10. Bul Kuol (CRN) $217,600 GRD/FWD
