The British brand celebrates its 110th anniversary with this bespoke build

To commemorate its 110th anniversary, Aston Martin is pulling out all the stops… or is it “gos?”

The British brand announced its new Valour model powered by a 5.2L twin-turbo V12 (not a typo), churning out 715 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque, all spun through a six-speed manual gearbox. If you’re going to celebrate such a peculiar anniversary, may as well do it in style.

Interestingly, it’s the only front-engined V12 sports car with an available manual transmission, so for all you old-school driving enthusiasts with deep pockets and long arms, start reaching, as there will only be 110 made globally.

Aston Martin’s executive chairman Lawrence Stroll says, “Valour is a celebration of Aston Martin’s passion for driving and extraordinary heritage, but it is also emblematic of today’s vibrant and revitalised brand. Valour captures the essence of excitement and exclusivity that defines this storied automotive marque. A showcase for our world-class design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, Valour is further proof of Aston Martin’s position as the driver’s champion and maker of the world’s most exciting, exclusive and desirable ultra-luxury high-performance cars.”

Aston Martin says the Valour is inspired by the original V8 Vantage, along with the Vantage-based Le Mans race car from 1980,  RHAM/1 ‘Muncher.’ Material-wise, the Valour is made entirely from carbon fibre, with design cues inspired by the V8 Vantage from the 1970s. There’s a clamshell hood with functional horseshoe shaped vent, plenty of sharper edged design lines, an upswept Kamm tail and the rear LEDs pay homage to the Valkyrie hypercar.

On the modern side, there’s a mechanical limited-slip differential, electronic traction and stability control systems, and drive modes that include Sport, Sport+ and Track. Plus, there’s a bespoke suspension, adaptive dampers, springs and anti-roll bars, with the wheels having dedicated camber, castor and toe settings, complete with carbon ceramic brakes. Wrapping the wheels are staggered Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires:  275/35 R21 in the front and 325/30 R21 on the rear.

Inside, the lucky 110 buyers can choose from various materials, styles, and designs that include options for the shift knob, seat coverings, and exterior accents that feature stripes or graphic designs.

Production is scheduled to start at its Gaydon Headquarters this summer with keys being exchanged by autumn of this year. No word on pricing yet but expect something this rare to carry an appropriate price tag.
