The Loewe Anagram tank top has officially been named the hottest product of spring 2023, according to The Lyst Index: a quarterly ranking of fashion’s hottest brands and products. And Kylie Jenner, who has been wearing the tank on repeat, of course.
It first appeared on Loewe’s spring/summer 2022 catwalk, and became cult among a new-wave of minimalist influencers very quickly after launch, proving itself as insatiably easy to incorporate into their everyday get-ups.
It’s with thanks, almost entirely to its simplicity. A solid tank top is the foundation of any spring wardrobe, worn beneath a blazer to the office and with a maxi skirt in the Med. So to take such a staple and elevate it with a small, anagram logo is wise.
It plays into the quiet luxury trend which has garnered over 172 million mentions on TikTok to date, fuelled by viral talking points like Gwyneth Paltrow’s court appearances and Succession. Opulence has a new meaning, where logo mania takes a back seat, modern and contemporary design takes centre stage and only those in-the-know can recognise a piece as being so quietly expensive.

Of course, you’d be well within your rights to declare us mad for spending upwards of £250 on a tank top, but it’s worth it. Time and time again, it’s those initially-expensive staples which we wear the most. The Frankie Shop’s oversized boxy blazer, Agolde’s high waist straight leg jeans, a solid pair of wide-leg trousers and a pair of city sandals by The Row. Although costly at first, the cost per wear reduces by the day. And when we say you’ll enjoying this tank markedly more than you will a thinning H&M iteration, trust.
