Some of these regions are home to the different Temples in the game, some are home to certain races, and others are home to interesting animals and noteworthy locations. No matter which region you go to, you’re going to find something to love about it. Here are the best regions to visit in the game and why.

10 Mount Lanayru

Mount Lanayru is a beautiful mountainous area home to many notable locations. It also boasts beautiful oceans and some flat lands. The region is home to Hateno Village its Tech Lab, where Robbie will send you to obtain some add-ons for your Purah Pad.

You can also find the Spring of Wisdom near the peak of Mount Lanayru, a great place to visit and see one of the Goddess Statues. On top of all of this, this region has one of the best Easter eggs in the game, Link’s house. The region is worth a stop just for that reason.

9 Gerudo Desert

The Gerudo Desert is an extremely beautiful area. At first, it seems like nothing more than a deserted desert. However, the region has a beautiful oasis and a great amount of areas that players can visit to see the pure beauty of the land. Players can find beautiful caverns directly below the sands, showing a magnificent amount of structures that the Gerudo built.

It is also the home of the Gerudo people, those who live in Gerudo City. The region also contains the Lightning Temple, one of the hardest Temples, but the most like a traditional Zelda Temple.

8 Eldin

The Eldin region is another underrated region in the game. Many players see it as the volcanic region of the Goron and that is it. The most well-known area of this region is Death Mountain; however, that isn’t the only landmark in the region.

While you can see some amazing views from the top of Death Mountain, you can also see the many springs that are warmed by the lava from Death Mountain. Goron City has these springs all around it. Not only can you see things like that, but you can also visit important locations from past games, such as the Gut Check Rock.

7 Faron

Faron is probably the most overlooked region in the game. While there aren’t any major cities in this region, it is home to some horse stables. It is also home to the Lake of the Horse God. You can find the Horse God’s unique steed in this area. The Faron Rainforest is also a must-see for players.

The beauty of this region truly sets it apart from others in the game. Interestingly, this is where players can find the Dondons, a new species of animal that Princess Zelda discovered shortly before the game began. You can give them Luminous Stones, and they will eat them and produce precious minerals.

6 Hebra

Hebra is the region of Hyrule that is snowy and mountainous. The race that lives in this region is the Rito, the bird-like beings that inhabit Hyrule. This means that this region is full of areas that are perfect for flying around. While Link obviously cannot fly, he can build a hoverbike and see this region like the Rito do.

You can also head to the Flight Range and learn to fly like the Rito using your Paraglider. This gives this region a more interesting and unique feel. In addition to all of this, you can even go shield surfing in this region, a popular activity among players.

5 Lanayru Sky

The Lanayru region of the Sky Islands is the first region from the sky on this list. What makes this region so interesting is that it holds some of the best Sky Islands that there are. For example, Wellspring Island is where you can find the Water Temple, a fascinating Temple since it allows players to explore the sky is a lower gravity area.

Another interesting place is the Floating Scales Island, the Sky Island you will learn has a lot to do with the Zora people. This island also has a piece of the Zora Armor set.

4 Central Hyrule Sky

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Hyrule Castle

Central Hyrule Sky is the best region in the Sky Islands. This region contains the area that Hyrule Castle ended up in when it rose from the surface. It also contains some pretty amazing Sky Islands in general. An example of this is that it contains Courage Island, one of the islands that the Zonai used as a diving trial for the Glide Armor set.

However, the best part of this region by far, is the Great Sky Island. This is where you start the game (and if you get the true ending, end the game), and gives players an amazing insight into the Zonai race.

3 Lanayru Great Springs

This area is a lot like the Mount Lanayru region. However, this region has a lot more to offer players. It is a mountainous area that contains Zora’s Domain, the home of the Zora people. This is a beautiful city full of waterfalls and beautiful scenery.

It also has a pretty amazing cave below the domain that is worth finding and exploring. In addition to the city, it also contains some pretty amazing other places. There are countless caves, wells, and hidden locations that make this places worth an exploration.

2 North Hyrule

North Hyrule is an obvious answer for one of the best regions. This is where Hyrule Castle sits, the most important (or at least one of the most important) landmarks in the entire game. In addition to that, there is the Royal Hidden Passage that can be found below Lookout Landing that connects that area to Hyrule Castle, making it an extremely interesting area in the region.

This region also contains the area below Hyrule Castle, the same area that the Demon King Ganon was imprisoned since Rauru defeated him all those thousands of years ago.

1 The Depths

The Depths Zora Statues in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The best region of the game is The Depths. What makes this place so amazing is that it is the complete opposite of the surface level. Since there isn’t a breakdown of regions within The Depths, this consists of the entire area. The Depths is almost like Lorule, the mirror of Hyrule in A Link Between Worlds.

There are some amazing areas in The Depths that some players may never see. For instance, below the Shrine of Resurrection is the Spring of Resurrection, a beautiful spring that explains why the Shrine of Resurrection has a healing power. This place is extremely mysterious, but so beautiful and worth exploring.
