The Queen’s ‘favourite chocolates’ are ‘floral’ and cost £280 – ‘rose and violet creams’

The Queen is known for enforcing tradition above everything else, ensuring the Royal Family behave in accordance with their positions. Queen Elizabeth has healthy eating habits generally and reportedly prefers frugal meals and TV dinners in her sitting room. But apparently the Queen cannot help herself when she is around one sweet treat.

In fact, it is a discussion that has seemingly found its way into the most famous British family – the Royal Family.

Chief chocolatier at Charbonnel et Walker (whose chocolate can sell for up to £280), Adam Lee, claimed in an ITV documentary the Queen really enjoys floral cream flavours.

He said: “The Queen does have a list of favourite chocolates with us.

“But I’m not allowed to divulge that directly to you.

“However, I can just say that she has very floral tastes, which may become evident if we look at the chocolates a little bit later…

“But maybe we should start with our two most popular chocolates, which are rose and violet creams.

“I never said a word, never said a word.”

It turns out that a love for chocolate runs in the family.

The Queen’s great-grandfather also had his own preference according to the chocolatier.

He said: “King Edward VII, who is our current Queen’s great-grandfather … his favourite chocolate was made by Madam Charbonnel in Paris.

“And he persuaded her to come over here.

“We are so lucky to have Her Majesty’s Royal Warrant.

“We have lots of pictures of the Queen and the Royal Family around the shop. They were given to us by the palace.”

Darren previously revealed that when he worked for Queen Elizabeth, she usually preferred dark chocolate.

He said: “She likes chocolate, but only dark chocolate, the darker the better.

“She’s not a big fan of milk or white chocolate.”

The Queen is also reportedly a fan of Bendicks Bittermints.

These small dark chocolate treats are filled with mint and earned the Royal Warrant in 1962.
