On Christmas Eve, Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack Foundation hosted a toy drive in Houston for 1,000 families.

The third annual Winter Wonderland and Toy Drive, the musician and several members of his family gave out toys in the neighborhood of Sunnyside. In addition to the toys, they also gifted Roku TVs and pairs of his recent Air Jordan 1 Low OG SP ‘Black Phantom’ sneakers. The shoes launched earlier this month, and came in a mostly black colorway that saw him iterate on his popular collab with Nike.

In a statement, the rapper said that he was “grateful” he was able to hold the event in Houston, his hometown. “The holiday season was my favorite as a child and I know some families are having a tough time in our community this year,” he said. “We wanted to do our part to ensure we still spread the Christmas joy to area children. Sometimes even Santa needs a helping hand to deliver.”

The toy drive event comes not long after Scott closed out his year with a series of high-profile collaborations, which included multiple appearances on Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains album. He also tried his hand at directing with the music video for Future’s I Never Liked You track “712PM.”

He headlined the Mirror Mirror music festival earlier this month alongside Skepta, which was organized by Virgil Abloh Securities. Other performers at the Miami, Florida festival included Venus X, Benji B, Yves Tumor, Bambii, Acyde, Rampa, and Pedro.

Profits from the event were donated to the launch of The Virgil Abloh Foundation.
