Black magic
Truffles have been in vogue not just globally, but in India too over the past few years. A particular genera of fungi, they impart an earthy flavour to dishes that’s hard to replicate, though they usually cost an arm and a leg. A city eatery is now celebrating the ingredient at a festival that will last till October 24, where one of the dishes on offer is a special truffle mushroom pizza. Bite into it for a flavour that is worth its weight in gold.

Deep into it
Deep-dish pizzas were invented in Chicago, after Italian immigrants adapted their homeland classic to suit the palate of their adopted country. They have travelled especially well to India, where most of the pizzas we get borrow from that deep-dish legacy. A Worli café is now celebrating it with a range of Chicago-style pizzas, with flavours including chunky lamb, and baked egg and cheese.
