Tyson Fury has vowed to knock out Oleksandr Usyk when they fight and intends to make a statement about his superiority to Anthony Joshua by doing so.
The Ukrainian took AJ’s WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles when they first met in September 2021, then retained the belts by beating him again in their August 2022 rematch.
Now, Usyk and WBC champion Fury are deep in talks to meet in an undisputed title showdown for all four belts in February or March 2023.
Usyk has been ordered to fight Daniel Dubois but it’s not expected to hinder the Fury clash.
A fight between the Gypsy King and AJ looks further away than ever.
Discussing this topic on Monday, Fury asked in an iFL TV interview: “Why isn’t this lad stepping up to the plate and taking on the challenge?
“What does he wanna fight Dillian Whyte for? He’s already beat Dillian Whyte.
“Fight me. Come to the party, bring your teacakes and your underpants.
“It’s only a fight, you’ve already lost before.”
Giving little cause for optimism, Fury said of the Joshua fight: “I can guarantee you that you will not see it, 100%.
“Like Carl Froch vs Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton vs Junior Witter, it’s 100% not happening.
“I’m gonna knock out the guy who just beat him twice.
“What are they gonna say about me then?”
Fury concluded: “I’m looking to fight Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua’s nemesis, the man who’s got AJ’s kryptonite.
“The man who made him cry after the fight like a little girl, ‘I’m 18 stone.’ So? I’m 20 stone.
“I’ll beat him, I’ll take that little sausage out.
“He ain’t got no kryptonite to me. He’s f*** all to me the little f***er. I’m gonna make him dance.
“We’ll see how good he is.”
