UFC Vegas 46: Calvin Kattar vs. Giga Chikadze weigh-in results

After what felt like months, the UFC will return on Saturday, Jan. 15 from a nearly one-month layoff. UFC Vegas 46 goes down on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2021, starting with the preliminary card at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The main card will follow at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+. Although a handful of matchups have been rescheduled/canceled because of COVID, 10 bouts remain to start the new year.

In the headliner, rising title contender Giga Chikadze takes on the always tough Calvin Kattar. Each fighter is at a different point in their career, with Chikadze 7-0 in the UFC and Kattar coming off a brutal loss to Max Holloway.

Luckily for Kattar, a win against Chikadze puts him right back on track to a title shot. Meanwhile, Chikadze looks to continue his win streak to strengthen his argument for a future title shot. Both fighters rarely grapple, so expect a war on the feet in this intriguing main event.

The co-main event will be between Jake Collier and Chase Sherman in the heavyweight division. Some fans have been quick to ridicule the matchup being so high on the fight card, but both fighters have power and need a win. Don’t underestimate what these fighters can do when at their best.

Also, other matchups that stand out include Brian Kelleher vs. Kevin Croom, Jamie Pickett vs. Joseph Holmes, and Brandon Royval vs. Rogerio Bontorin.
