Dmitry Kuleba, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, has revealed a conversation he had with US President Joe Biden on February 22.

He said President Biden rarely receives Foreign Ministers from other countries, but Secretary of State Anthony Blinken “put in a good word” for him.

Before entering the Oval Office, Mr Kuleba saw people leaving after a meeting on Ukraine.

He recalled: “And they come out, and everyone literally throws a farewell look at me, like, you know, if a consultation of doctors had just taken place, and they decided that you have the fourth stage of cancer.

“Everyone goes to the patient, they say: ‘Hi’. And so: ‘Eh …; And he went on.

“Each of them did this: shook my hand, made such a sympathetic exhalation – and went on.

“Biden said on February 22, ‘There will be war. We will be with you to the end, to the end.

“And I had information that NATO had already calculated – until the end of 72 hours.

“Well, he said that they have the latest intelligence that everything will start soon.

“I understood that we were inevitably heading towards war. When it starts – tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, in three days – this is already a secondary issue.

“But there was a moment when Biden showed me a photograph of his son, who died, and he told me: ‘Mr. Minister you should always think about your children.’”
