The 20-year-old was charged with drunk driving and failing to report damage to property on a highway after Lambton OPP learned early Aug. 14 that a vehicle was travelling westbound on Lambton Line on only three wheels.
Police said over 80 kilometres of the roadway was damaged.
Police followed the damage until they came upon a “broken down” vehicle.
When they spoke with the driver, OPP say it was apparent the man had consumed alcohol. Police say a roadside screening device was administered and the driver arrested for impaired operation. He was taken to an OPP detachment for further tests, which he failed.
Along with charges of drunk driving and failing to report highway damage, the accused was also charged with operating an unsafe vehicle.
He was released and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.
