In a few days, French basketball sensation Victor Wembanyama is expected to go No. 1 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Fans may not have to wait until the fall to see him make his debut in America.
According to Ballislife.com, Wembanyama recently addressed the possibility of playing in the NBA Summer League once he gets drafted. The 19-year-old didn’t dismiss the idea, and suggested that he might play “a little bit” of Summer League basketball.
Wembanyama has played his entire basketball career in Europe but many analysts and even fellow players have hyped him as the best prospect since LeBron James. Even LeBron himself has raved about the French basketball star for having such impressive fluidity for someone his size.

The San Antonio Spurs were lucky enough to get the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after winning the draft lottery. They are widely expected to take Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the draft this coming Thursday.
One could argue that the Spurs should try to keep Wembanyama in bubble wrap to avoid him suffering any recurring injuries like Zion Williamson has with the New Orleans Pelicans.
But if they let him play in the Summer League, fans could be in for an early treat to one of its potential young stars.
