The Watering Hole, in Perranporth, Cornwall, boasts unparalleled views of the coastline as well as thriving live music events.

It sits right on the sand, making it the UK’s only bar on the beach according to Big 7.

The review states: “Open all year round, it serves real ales from local breweries, cocktails and a wide variety of soft and hot drinks, including a dreamy hot chocolate.

“There’s a good range of beach-friendly grub on offer too.”

As well as its more traditional offerings, it operates as a music venue which has attracted big names over the years.

Indeed, Eurovision star Sam Ryder is expected to perform there this summer, while Jools Holland has seen it packed to the rafters.

Outdoor tables with straw parasols give sun-seekers the chance to lounge in the warmth while enjoying refreshing pints and top pub grub.

Others at the top of the list include the Rising Sun, set in the shadow of a towering viaduct in Pensford, Somerset, and the trendy People’s Park Tavern, hidden away in the heart of London’s Victoria Park.

The latter has its own on-site microbrewery, allowing it to put a whopping 70 beers on tap.

Rounding out the top five are the award-winning Jolly Fisherman in Craster, Northumberland, and the quaint Drunken Duck Inn in Ambleside, Cumbria.

It comes after the UK’s top 50 gastropubs for 2023 were revealed.

However, one boozer that locals say should top any list sees cheap pints sold for just £3 – but its location is surprising everyone.
