Warhammer 40K Darktide: How to start a private match

Naturally, not everyone will want to pair up with random strangers when playing an online game. Some will want to play exclusively with people they know, and others will want to experience the game by themselves with a team of bots. When Warhammer 40K: Darktide first launched at the end of November, players could not set up their own private lobbies. But now, thanks to the 1.0.20 patch, this no longer remains the case. If you want to start a private match in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, this guide will show you how.

Warhammer 40K Darktide: How to start a private match

Fortunately, you won’t have to jump through many hoops to create a private lobby. Once you spawn in the Mourningstar, you simply have to walk straight and go to the Mission Terminal located opposite your starting position. When you enter it, hit ‘P’ to start setting up a private game instead of a public one. If you change your mind and want to join a public lobby, all you have to do is hit ‘P’ again. Anywhere from two to four players can participate in a private match together.

What about solo play?

Although the current private match system does serve as a viable substitute for playing with strangers, it does not give you the option of starting a solo game. Warhammer 40K: Darktide has not yet implemented a solo-play feature, but the developers have confirmed previously that it will come eventually. Since solo play serves as one of the more requested features for Warhammer 40K: Darktide, players will undoubtedly rejoice whenever it arrives.

As long as you update Warhammer 40K: Darktide to the latest version and follow the steps listed above, holding a private game should be a cinch. Now, players just have to wait for a future solo-play update.
