When Satish Kaushik wanted to marry pregnant Neena Gupta and raise daughter Masaba as his own

Legenday Bollywood actor filmmaker Satish Kaushik is no more. The veteran actor passed away at 66 in the wee hours of Thursday on March 9. The actor’s death comes as a shock. Reportedly, Satish Kaushik had a heart attack while travelling in the car. Fans and friends of the actor are mourning his demise. Having said that, today we look back at the time when Neena Gupta, in her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh, had revealed that Satish Kaushik offered to marry her when she was pregnant with Masaba Gupta.

Neena had an affair with former West Indian cricketer the legendary West Indian cricketer, Vivian Richards and they chose to have a child, their daughter Masaba back in the 1980s. Neena raised her daughter single-handedly as both Vivian and Neena failed to culminate their relationship into marriage. Before Masaba was born, Satish Kaushik offered to marry Neena.

Neena wrote in her book that Satish had told her if her child is born with dark skin, she can just say that it is his child and they will get married. Satish told her, “Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing”.

Neena has always been open about her relationship with Vivian. Earlier, in an interview, she had spoken about how she always believed that Masaba suffered as she was born to unmarried parents. She said that her journey as a single mother was tough. Neena, in 2008 got married to chartered accountant Vivek Mehra when Masaba was a teenager.

On the work front, Neena Gupta was last seen in Sardar Ka Grandson and she was very much raved by the audience.
