A THEME park in England is offering one family the chance to get paid to try out its rides.

The dream job, for some at least, is available at Drayton Manor Resort in Staffordshire, who are hiring a thrill-seeking family to “live like a Viking” for the day, in exchange for cash.

The park is offering £500 to the fortunate family, to celebrate the launch of its brand-new Vikings area.

The candidates will be given the chance to try out a host of new rides and attractions, all inspired by ancient gods and legends.

They include the spinning Disk’O Coaster, Thor, and Loki, which is the first of its kind in the UK.

The highly-anticipated ride will send thrill-seekers soaring to new heights, with the official Drayton Manor website promising the ride will offer “a truly hypnotic experience from both the sky and ground.”

A viral clip of the ride in action has already amassed over 1.1million views after it was uploaded to Drayton Manor’s social accounts last week.

The newly appointed Vikings will also be offered barbecue food from new eatery Walhalla, a restaurant inspired by the historic heaven that warriors were said to visit after battle.

They will then spend the night in the resort’s new Vikings themed rooms in the onsite 4-star hotel, which feature traditional wooden panelling embellished with shields and paintings of ancient voyages.

The next day, they will get an English breakfast before being granted access to the park again, as part of the resort’s Stay & Play package.

In exchange for the trip and the money, the chosen family will simply need to review their Viking experience and report back to resort bosses on fun-factor, excitement, and overall entertainment value.

Victoria Lynn, managing director of Drayton Manor Resort, said: “We’re on the lookout for a family who loves nothing more than a fun day out and new experiences, to come and try out Vikings for themselves.

“It really is an experience like no other and a real opportunity to live

For the chance to be the lucky family selected to ‘live like a Viking’, applicants should visit www.draytonmanor.co.uk/vikings/viking-for-a-day-competition before Friday 29 July, explaining in 100 words or less why they think they would be perfect for the role.

Drayton Manor was recently named in the world’s top 20 theme parks.

The UK’s best – that was ranked higher than Disneyland Paris in the European awards – is one you probably haven’t heard of.
