You Can Watch The Game Awards 2022 At A TGV IMAX Theatre

Unless you’re living in the US, the prospect of catching The Game Awards without streaming it on YouTube or Twitch is about as slim as it gets. This year though, an unexpected avenue for watching the show has opened up. And this comes via TGV Cinemas and IMAX Live.

The cinema chain has announced that it will be holding a special fan event to stream The Game Awards 2022. Since IMAX Live is a part of the equation, it’s more than likely that this will happen at one of its available locations, which includes 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity, Gurney Paragon, Tebrau City, Vivacity and Central i-City.

That being said, beyond the date of 9 December, TGV Cinemas has not announced any other details regarding the fan event. Which means there are no ticket prices for now. With The Game Awards being only two weeks away, it shouldn’t be long before the missing bits of info emerge. The Game Awards 2022 is slated to start at 8:30AM local time though, so you’ll need to get the day off if you want to be a part of this.

The event itself should need no introduction, but if you need one, The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony celebrating achievements in the video game industry. It is effectively the successor of the Spike Video Game Awards since being established in 2014, with the shows being produced and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley.

As an event show, naturally you get to vote on which you think are the best games of the year, with a few different categories and an overall best. You can check out the list of nominees, as well as vote for each one of your favourites, by hitting this link. For details of the TGV fan event, we’ll have to wait for the cinema chain to announce more details.
