Zara Tindall lived in Grade II listed Cheltenham property

Zara Tindall lives a private life in Gloucestershire away from the hustle and bustle of the royal Palaces. Equestrian Zara and her husband and former England rugby player Mike Tindall get to enjoy the British countryside in all its glory at their property on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate.

The couple lives at Aston Farm, a lavish property within the boundaries of Gatcombe.

Here Mike and Zara are raising their three children Mia, Lena and Lucas, the latter of whom was born last year at home.

Zara is a stones-throw away from her mother Princess Anne and her step-father Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

She is also close by to her brother Peter Phillips who lives in a property on his mother’s estate.

The couple famously posed outside the property in the snow when they announced their engagement in 2010.

The home boasted a gym, drawing room, cinema and plenty of bed and reception rooms spread over four floors.

Pictures of inside the property when it was up for sale showed off a free-standing bath, jacuzzi and a grand kitchen with a trendy centre island.

While Mike and Zara’s reasons for selling the property are unknown, it stands to reason the pair may have wished to be closer to Zara’s beloved mother.

Gatcombe Park also offers the family privacy and plenty of green space to play and horse ride.

Princess Anne lives in the estate’s main building which boasts five main bedrooms and four secondary bedrooms.

There is also a library, billiard room, conservatory and several reception rooms.

While Gatcombe Park is a private royal residence and retreat for Princess Anne’s family, members of the public are invited onto the grounds for the Festival of British Eventing.

The equine event usually runs every summer and Mike and Zara have been pictured there over the years with their growing family.

Princess Anne previously explained to Countryfile: “It’s really nice to come back and just be yourself in an area like this.

“Being able to take on a place like this – for me, I’ve got to make it work.

“This is not something that comes free, this has got to pay its way, otherwise I can’t stay here.”
