Amir Khan and Kell Brook face off for the first time

Kell Brook has admitted he may opt against retiring after his clash with Amir Khan and could look to secure huge clashes with Floyd Mayweather and Conor Benn.

The British star is currently preparing for his clash against Khan which is set to take place next month in Manchester with a bumper crowd expected.

Both men have faced retirement questions as they approach the twilight years of their long and successful careers.

Brook will wait and see how he is “feeling” after the showdown with Khan before he makes any concrete decision on his future.

“Am I going to retire? Let’s see how I’m feeling,” Brook told iFL TV.

“Whether I’ve got that buzz after hearing all them in Manchester screaming and cheering, when the first bell rings and whenever the last bell rings, what emotions are going to be going through me directly straight after the fight. Let’s just wait and see.

“I think a lot of people want me to say I’m going to retire. Conor Benn’s been mentioned, Mayweather’s been saying that he wants the winner, Danny Garcia’s been saying that he wants the winner, Keith Thurman’s getting active again.

“What else am I going to do? If I am feeling like I am feeling now what is the point in hanging them up? This is all I have done since 9-years-old and it is the only thing I am very good at so let’s wait and see.”

Mayweather retired from the sport at 50-0 but has staged exhibitions including recently with YouTube star Logan Paul which generated huge interest.

He is also in talks to take part in another exhibition against YouTuber Money Kicks on a helipad in Dubai.

Benn called out domestic rival Brook immediately after his brutal stoppage victory of Chris Algieri and a potential bout has always been on the cards.

However any event is unlikely to take place until later in the year with Brook focussed on Khan while Benn is likely to face another step-up against Adrien Broner or Robert Guerrero.

Brook has been out of action since November 2020 where he was defeated by Terence Crawford but is now arguably taking one of the biggest occasions of his career.

His opponent Khan has spoken of his injury struggles as he also continues his preparations for the fight.

But the Sheffield Star has warned his foe that he will not be accepting any reason for any withdrawal from the bout if Khan was unable to attend.

“I just want to send a message to Amir Khan that the fans have waited so long for this fight, I will be turning up even if I have two broken hands. The fans have been waiting so long for this fight so don’t be pulling out,” Brook told Sky Sports.

“This fight has been too messed around with the contracts and getting across the line, now we have this fight and we have a date set. Let’s make this fight happen. I don’t want you to say you have Covid or anything like that.”
