It was reported Tuesday that USC freshman Bronny James, the son of NBA star LeBron James, was rushed to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during a workout.
Bronny, 18, was unconscious when taken to the hospital, per a report from TMZ.
Shortly after this concerning news was announced, Lakers legend Magic Johnson rushed to Twitter to offer his thoughts and prayers to the James family.
“Cookie and I are praying for LeBron and Savannah’s son Bronny after hearing he suffered a cardiac arrest. We are praying and hoping he makes a full and speedy recovery,” Johnson tweeted.

A spokesperson for the James family announced in a statement that Bronny is in stable condition and no longer in the ICU.
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,” the spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday. “Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
