A new survey by VISA shows 70% of Canadians say their holiday travel plans have been impacted by current economic factors such as inflation.

That feeling surpasses last year’s leading factor of health concerns due to the pandemic.

Still, the poll says 42% of Canadians are choosing to travel internationally and 58% domestically.

When it comes to international trips, the survey found 58% of travellers are concerned about possible fraud on their credit/debit card while 62% of Canadian adults plan to use their credit card to make purchases.

VISA advises travellers to let the card issuer know where they’re travelling and for how long, note card numbers, balances, and issuer phone numbers and keep them in a safe place, save and check all receipts against card statements during the trip, and don’t leave cards unattended in such places as hotel rooms.
