The southern suburbs’ first two-storey electric go-karting venue has opened in Bibra Lake.

PowerPlay’s two-level indoor go-karting complex will have racers feeling like they could take on Daniel Ricciardo as they speed and drift along the track behind the F1-styled steering wheel.

The centre, PowerPlay’s second after its Joondalup venue, opened on Tuesday and lets drivers race at speeds of up to 70km/h with no lag and no fumes.

Your local paper, whenever you want it.

CEO Glenn Macneall, a three-time Asia Pacific Rally Champion, said PowerPlay took the thrill of racing and made it accessible to everyone.

“All you need are closed shoes, a $4 balaclava that you buy and keep, and a healthy dose of competition,” Mr Macneall said.

“There’s no fumes, no dust, no fighting the weather or the elements; PowerPlay is completely indoors, air-conditioned, clean, quiet and a whole lot of fun.

“We knew PowerPlay would be a hit in Perth, there’s nothing like it anywhere else in Australia and we are beyond excited to open our second centre in Bibra Lake.”

The first PowerPlay opened in Joondalup two years ago with the super-fast electric karts proving to be an instant hit with young and old, with more than 150,000 racers clocking up over 1.5 million laps.

The PowerPlay karts have adjustable seats and pedals, working headlights for the tunnel, brake lights, a roll bar and four-point safety harness to ensure you feel safe going around the hairpin bends.

And if karting isn’t your thing, there’s a huge arcade games area to kill some time in instead.

The complex will be open to speed demons and thrill seekers seven days a week from 10am to 9pm at 7 Sobek Pass, Bibra Lake, off North Lake Road.
