Tyson Fury digs out own promoter Bob Arum and issues contract ultimatum

Tyson Fury has told his promoter Bob Arum to land him his next fight or give him his contract back after taking offence to comments from the legendary Top Rank CEO. The surprise exchange comes after 91-year-old Arum hinted that the Gypsy King was yet to decide his next move as he appeared to take a dig at Fury’s indecisiveness following the collapse of talks with Oleksandr Usyk over a blockbuster undisputed clash in Saudi Arabia.

Arum said on Fury vs Usyk during an interview in the United States: “They’re waiting now, both fighters, for the end of the year, to fight each other in the Middle East, because that’s where the big money is.

“Right now I think he’s going to wait [to fight], but with Tyson Fury it depends on how he wakes up in the morning.”

He later added: “I don’t know if Tyson Fury has an idea of what he wants to do.”

Fury has since called out Arum for his comments, hitting back on Instagram where he posted: “Ow, I know what I want @toprank Bob I want you to get me that fight I’m due! Or give me my contract back.”

After a small break from social media which included a trip to Disneyland Paris with his family, Fury is now gunning for his next fight.

He has now sent an offer out there to the rest of the heavyweight division, urging contenders to step up as he is desperate to record another knockout following a lengthy five-month absence from the ring.

The Gypsy King said during an Instagram video: “I’ve been off Instagram for a while, I’ve been on holiday, I’ve been chilling, I’ve been eating, I’ve been doing all sorts of s**t. But I just wanted to say to everybody that I want to knock out all these motherf***** out and I’m ready to rumble.

“I’ve not fought since December through no fault of my own. I’ve tried to fight some little midget Usyk and he’s not wanted anything, I’ve tried to fight AJ, he don’t want no smoke.

“I’ve tried to fight everyone. Andy Ruiz Jr has asked for 20 million, silly little b**** don’t know where he’s got that from. Who’s out there? Who’s available? [Zhilei] Zhang, he was a good little fight but [Joe] Joyce wants his rematch so that’s not happening now.

“So, I’m looking to fight anybody, any place, anytime, anywhere. I cannot wait to fight Usyk, AJ, whoever is out there, I’m f****** you up because I’m the baddest motherf***** on the planet.”

Since Fury’s request Zhang, Martin Bakole, Michael Hunter, Frank Sanchez and Francis Ngannou have offered to fight the Gypsy King next.

UFC legend Jon Jones has also offered to fight Fury in a cage after the WBC heavyweight champion of the world slated Joe Rogan for saying Jones would beat Fury.

Meanwhile, Usyk remains confident he will get his chance to fight Fury later in the year despite walking away from negotiations.

The Ukrainian unified world champion tweeted: “Greedy Belly, we’ll see you again!”

Talks are ongoing behind the scenes to make Usyk vs Fury and Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder on the same night in December.

Eddie Hearn is confident AJ vs the Bronze Bomber is a fight that can be made very easily despite previous failings in the past.
