Australian YouTube star Alex ‘I did a thing’ Apollonov was forced to plead with the referee after brutally beating down rival ‘Theodd1sout’ in their fight last night.

The pair took to the ring in Tampa, Florida as part of the Creator Clash charity boxing event run by YouTuber iDubbbz, who featured in the headline act. But despite insistences that match-ups would be even ahead of the show, it appeared that there was a mismatch between Apollonov and his opponent, real name Robert Rallison.

Despite tipping the scales just a pound apart, Apollonov looked the bigger fighter in the ring, and appeared to have done considerably more training in the build-up. Despite a joking pre-fight ritual which included taking a swig of beer and fighting in khaki shorts, he dominated the early proceedings.

After a 32-hour flight from his Melbourne training camp during fight week, it took just seconds for him to land cleanly on Rallison, who was celebrating turning 26 on fight night, and almost close the show within the opening few minutes. But he opted not to pile on the pressure, and instead allow his rival time to recover.

However, after receiving a few mild shots of his own, the Aussie turned up the heat again and managed to once more stun his opponent. But he had to plead with the referee to stop the fight as it appeared Rallison was willing to fight on, despite being beaten up.

After the fight, Apollonov was respectful of both his opponent and the sport, before cheekily joking that he had acclimatised to American time by “taking lots and lots of drugs”.

“To get in the ring with someone and actually have them hit you in the face and have you hit them in the face is a terrifying thing to do,” he declared. “He fought well, and good work for having the balls to get in the ring with me. It was good [the time difference], taking lots and lots of drugs really helps with the transition, thank you, thank you, thank you.”

It was a night of knockouts in Tampa, with just two of the nine influencer bouts heading to the judges. There were also two stoppages in the professional prelim and post-lim bouts.
